Free energy and retrofit advice - The launch of Big Green Week Warwickshire
The launch of Stratford’s Big Green Week, Kenilworth’s Clean Air Day extravaganza and Lillington’s Clean Green Bash are just some of the events where Act on Energy experts have been engaging with residents about the benefits of energy efficiency upgrades helping with both climate change and future energy bills.
Louise Bowlt who heads up Act on Energy’s energy-efficiency retrofit team said:
“With energy bills still high and predicted to remain so, we know that people are concerned about paying their bills. The energy you don’t use is of course the cheapest – and that’s where effective energy efficiency really pays off. We’ve got a whole host of advice about ways residents can reduce their energy use while still being safe and warm.
“But of course we’re not only talking about the cost of living. Reducing the energy, we use in our homes will have a beneficial impact on climate change too. It can sometimes feel overwhelming on an individual level to see how we can make a difference but genuinely, small changes can help to make a big difference. We surely owe it to future generations to take note of the overwhelming climate change evidence we see around us - and make those steps to reduce our carbon footprint”.
Act on Energy has been helping Warwickshire residents for over 25 years with expert advice on how to make your home more energy efficient – and now more than ever, people can see the financial benefits of becoming more energy aware.
We offer free advice over the phone to anyone in the county who wants to improve their home’s energy use and we can also help residents explore funding and grant opportunities to help make the necessary changes.
And even if residents aren’t eligible for government grant funding, there may be other options available.
In Warwick District for example, homeowners who want to invest in upgrading their home’s energy efficiency can get free one to one advice on their retrofit journey – from knowing where to start, to arranging a specialist home energy report and even support with engaging the right contractors.
